Group Shuttlers Shine at the 33rd MBA Inter- Firm Team Badminton Championships 2016

John Keells Group Shuttlers became Overall 1st runner up out of 65 companies at the 33rd Mercantile Inter- firm Team Badminton Championships 2016 held at MBA Badminton Courts and Stadium Complex, Colombo 7 from 08th to 30th October 2016.
Group shuttlers did great to achieve their highest performance in 5 years in this tournament. They beat MAS (3rd place), which was one of the favourites of the Overall Championship, while McLarens Group placed Champions. Three (3) teams managed to qualify to the finals, in Women’s “B”, “C” and “D” divisions. While 1 team ended up winning the championship trophy and the other 2 teams became runners up, in the respective divisions. The B Division “best player” was awarded for one of the group shuttlers.
